After receiving his medical degree at Columbia University in NY, Dr. McGuire did his general surgery residency & chief residency at UCLA. He completed his plastic surgery residency in 1980 & eventually become Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA. He obtained board certification in 1981 from the American Board of Plastic Surgery & served as President of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons in the year 2000. Dr. McGuire is Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica & President of Pacific Coast Plastic Surgery Center. In addition, Dr. McGuire was Chair of the Board of Directors of Lumetra, the quality improvement organization for the 4 million Medicare beneficiaries in California. He has been elected as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons & of the Royal Society of Medicine in England. Dr. McGuire currently serves as Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, is Secretary of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, & on the Board of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
